Join us in creating a social meeting place!

We need your input on how the 3rd floor of Rokken should look. Do you like interior design? Do you like creating social spaces or being engaged in creative processes?
About the project
SiVolda wants to transform an area on the third floor of Rokken Studenthus into an open, accessible, and student-friendly room. Currently, the space consists of offices, a conference room, and storage. Our goal is to open up these rooms and create a large, flexible area that can accommodate many different activities—making the student house even more inclusive and vibrant.
To make the space the best it can be for students, we want to involve student voices in the process. We are looking for engaged students who want to contribute to the planning and design. This is a project for students, and it’s important that they take ownership of it.
So far, we have called the project "Studentstova" (Student Room). The name reflects the intended use of the space, but we are still in the early stages and are happy to receive suggestions for both the name and design.
A sustainable solution
Sustainability is a key principle of the project. We want to create a space that will last for a long time and can easily be adapted to new needs without major interventions. We also aim to reuse furniture and materials that the Student Welfare Organization already has in storage.
For this to be a sustainable project, the space must reflect the needs and interests of students. Therefore, we want to involve creative students with a sense for interior design, space planning, and functionality, to contribute ideas and solutions.
What can the space be used for?
We envision the space being filled with activities such as games, creative work, and low-threshold offerings, or simply becoming a pleasant place where students can meet and socialize. It will be an alcohol-free area where the main function is to serve as a social meeting place in a flexible area that can accommodate various activities for both individual students and student organizations.
